Aeroscout - B-330 for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)

The Aeroscout team made use of some warm days in spring to go for a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) mission with the B-330 UAV and together with Gamma Remote Sensing AG. The SAR needs very accurate position and attitude information which was provided by a Honeywell HGuide n580. A specific 80m long flight line had to be exactly repeated several times by the UAV, which is challenging for the navigation algorithm as well as for the flight controller. The final result will be a high resolution map of the scanned slope which allows to compare it to future scan flights.

ADD2WIND flight test campaign

A next milestone reached on the road to deliver tools and spare parts to offshore wind turbines: the drop test on a demonstrator platform. The flight was performed with an Aeroscout Scout B1-100 UAV Helicopter, operated under the new SORA based flight permission for EU countries. Thank to all ADD2WIND project members for the good work!

Aeroscout is proud of receiving a flight permission for the Scout B-330 UAV Helicopter in compliance with SORA (Specific Operations Risk Assessment). The EASA published the SORA as a standard for drone operations with aircrafts over 25kg takeoff mass. It is valid in the EU and will be adopted by FOCA (Federal office of civil aviation, Switzerland) on 1 January 2023.
